In YYC we are incredibly lucky to have a city that is booming with beautiful, successful studios to keep our city in tip-top shape!  Everything from yoga, spin, pilates, barre, surf-set, circuit - you name it there are a ton of great studios that contribute greatly to various communities in Calgary.  With all these studios come a lot of great instructors who over the years have created strong community connections and friendships.  We also know that here in Calgary we live for summer - we usually get about 2 or 3 months of it and man oh man us Calgarians never want to miss a minute of being out in the sun!  These kickass instructors are running classes outside throughout the entire summer in some of our favourite green spaces in YYC.  You get 60 minutes of intensity, combining a total body workout incorporating strength, cardio and yoga!

Sweat Bandits - YYC

Who are The Sweat Bandits?

They are a bunch of bad ass babes from various studios throughout the city who have all connected to one another through this great sweat community we have here in Calgary.  It's a super cool way for participants to meet a new instructor and learn about a studio they might not have not been to before.  They all have different fitness backgrounds and plenty of experience teaching. All these gals are simply teaming up to help support others in reaching their fitness goals!

When & where can you find the Bandits?

The location will change but it will always be a landmark in and around inner city Calgary.  To stay up to date follow @thesweatbandits on instagram, they'll be posting where the workout will be taking place and what you will need for the class.  For the most part all you will need is a pair of runners and a yoga mat (BYOM).  The class will consist of 60 minutes of sweaty fun!  These classes will always run on a Tuesday or Thursday (alternating from week to week) at 6:45pm-7:45pm.

Why were The Sweat Bandits created?

These Bandits wanted to come together and give back.  Teaching at all different studios throughout the city creates for a busy life with so many classes, different studios, and teachers to try out.  These girls are coming together to represent the various studios and to give back to their community.  Each month a charity will be selected and 50% of the proceeds will go towards that charity.  For the month of June the charity of choice is Brown Bagging for Calgary Kids.

The very first Sweat Bandits class is this up coming Tuesday June 2nd at 6:45pm.  We will be meeting at the top of Scotsman Hill (1204 Salisbury Ave SE) will get you there.  This hill is located in the Inglewood/Ramsey area overlooking the Calgary Saddledome.  Join all these girls on a sweaty adventure this summer, meet new friends, new instructors and help give back to this amazing city we live and sweat in!
